BHAKTAPUR, MAR 07 - CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that at present, it is not the time to show strength. He urged the opposition parties to unite for the promulgation of constitution ending the show of strength and verbal exchanges.

Speaking during a programme organised to mark Parent’s Day at Gatthaghar-based CVM School on Saturday, leader Nepal said that no one will benefit from blackmailing and show of strength. “We dealt with one another. Those who were keen to show their strength; did it, the time to rebuke, verbal exchanges, blackmail and threats are over,” said leader Nepal, “Now, the time has come to seriously draft a constitution as per the people’s desire, let’s complete it.”

Leader Nepal said that the disputed issue of federalism should be resolved without interrupting the nation’s territorial integrity and ethnic unity. He said that today’s meeting took place after Friday’s meeting with the UCPN (Maoist) ended on a positive note.

During the programme, youth leader and CVM School’s management committee Chairman Shyam Sunder Basnet urged the leaders to leave behind personal interests and move towards forging the statute. “Patience among the people is dwindling,’ said Basnet, “The leaders should know, when there is time, what will be the consequence if the people have to wait any longer.”
