BARA, MAR 11 - The final rites of Puja Sah , a rape victim who died during treatment follwing the incident here in the district, will be performed only after the victim's family receivescompensation .

Pramod Gupta, Chairperson of 'Beti Bachau (Save the Daughters)' Struggle Committee, Kalaiya, has asserted that the final rites of the seven-year-old victim will not take place until her family receives the compensation .

Daughter of Badri Narayan Sah of Kalaiya-4, Puja, was raped by Kanhai Gupta, 28, from Kalaiya-6 at Motibag of the district on February 20. She was found lying unconscious on the spot where the incident had taken place.

The minor had breathed her last during her treatment at the Kanti Children's Hospital in Kathmandu.

Demanding compensation for the victim's family, the Struggle Committee had recently launched a sit-in protest in front of the District Administration Office, Kalaiya, keeping the body in front of the District Administration Office. RSS
